Our Mission:
Our mission is to create a well-balanced, happy dog and home by offering your dog the best training possible. Everyone out there has their own ideas and expectations of how a dog should behave. As an owner, it is your responsibility to learn how to bring those ideas and expectations to light. Training is much more then teaching your dog(s) to sit and stay - it’s about learning the reasons behind your dog’s behavior and how to resolve any issues. During our training process, you and your family will learn basic to advanced obedience training and how to address and correct any unwanted behaviors. Please remember this is a group effort.

At Yes Dog Yes, we customize your dog’s training based on their individual situation and needs. No two dogs are alike and should not be trained as such.

There are Three Elements to Successful Training.

Each of these three elements must be completed equally. If just one element is lacking, your dog will still learn, but it will take much longer and the end result may not be what you expected or wanted.

Timing

Timing is simply the time that passes between the behavior and its consequence and with dogs this time is very short. If too much time lapses between the behavior and consequence your dog will not be able to connect the two events, thus rendering your training efforts worthless.

Consistency

Consistency is the praise or correction that is given every time you observe an acceptable or unacceptable behavior. Timing plays a huge role here as well.

Reinforcement

Reinforcement is the action that will either motivate your dog to do something right (positive reinforcement) or to stop doing something (negative reinforcement).

Positive reinforcement is something that is perceived as pleasant, such as a treat or verbal praise. Negative reinforcement is something that is perceived as something unpleasant, such as a leash correction or not receiving a treat.

Conclusion:
You must always make it very clear to your dog the difference between right and wrong. Training requires patience and the old motto “if at first you don’t succeed then try, try again”. Have patience and take a break if you find yourself getting frustrated. Remember NEVER yell at your dog! Yelling only makes the dog frightened of you and that will make training nearly impossible.
